In 2001, the property was purchased by Hansjörg Wyss and converted into a world-class winery facility producing 100% estate-grown wines cultivated via sustainable farming practices. The vineyard and ranch's history dates back to the 1880s during its tenure as a 3,600-acre ranch holding by California businessman Edwin Smith. Historic Halter Ranch Vineyard is a lovely winery and vineyard in Paso Robles' Westside Adelaida District, set on 2,000 acres along steep slopes reaching an elevation of more than 1,750 feet.
